The Big Class

Each year, I offer a team-taught course featuring nationally renowned guests. Course topics include the Presidential Election, Latino Politics, and Immigration Reform. We have brought in US Department Secretaries, Congresspeople, Presidential Candidates, prominent journalists, and activists. This course is proudly sponsored by the University of Miami College of Arts & Sciences Dean's Office. This coming Fall, I will offer the 2018 Election course with Fernand Amandi, Casey Klofstad, and Greg Koger.
Previous guests have included Joy Ann Reid of MSNBC, Fmr. Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO), Fmr. Congressman Joe Garcia (D-FL), Congressman Carlos Cuerbelo (R-FL), Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) Presidential Candidate Herman Cain, Univision's Jorge Ramos, FNC's Michelle Fields, Fmr. Health & Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala, Fmr. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, Fmr. UN Ambassador Mark Wallace, Politico's Marc Caputo, Miami Herald's Patti Mazzei, and FNC Commentator Bernie Goldberg.

Summer in London

The London course takes place during the Summer II session in London, England. Students will spend a month in one of the world's greatest cities. The course is listed for 3 or 6 credits as POL 595 or for graduate credit as POL 695.
